  • The Museum of Islamic Art: Designed by I.M. Pei, the Museum of Islamic Art holds an invaluable collection of artworks sourced from around the world. Some of these artefacts go back to the 7th century. Depending on the route you’re taking to visit the museum, it gives the illusion that it’s afloat on water. Inside the museum, you’ll find a restaurant that serves the best of French cuisine. Get to the terrace, and you’ll be treated to stunning vistas of the Corniche.

Mangroves: To see another side of Qatar, you must visit the Mangroves of Al Thakira. This is an expansive area with lush greenery and water – not something you’d expect to find in a desert land such as Qatar. The rich biodiversity here is incredible. Various birds, including flamingos and herons, take shelter here during the migratory season. To experience it the best, rent a kayak and explore the mangroves at your own pace.
